The benefits of getting creative…
Creativity has many benefits to your child in the early years.
It helps develop fine motor skills, as well as increase their ability to focus and concentrate. They will also learn new skills, improving their problem solving capabilities and learn how to make their own choices. As well as these benefits, it is also just fun.
As children grow, it can be a great way to aid learning of other subjects, such as history or about the natural world. It also helps the continued development of critical thinking, decision making and co-ordination. In addition, their imagination will be encouraged to evolve and their resilience to ‘go with the flow’ will be developed as they discover not all things go to plan, but can still be fabulous!
Heading to teenage years, a creative space can serve as a wonderful outlet away from what can be a stressful academic environment. Art work can be a way for some to express feelings they otherwise find difficult to show. They may also find it beneficial from a social aspect as they find people who share a common interest.
And for adults….. time to de-stress from work or family commitments can be a vital part of life. It is also a great way to spend time with your family or friends, or you may want to meet some new like minded people. Maybe there is something you have always wanted to try but never had the chance or found the time. You will have a real sense of accomplishment if you take a bit of time for yourself and create something!
